Map Calibrator is a surprisingly pleasant freeware for creating map slices from large bitmap image files, and doing all kinds of map calibration work. The application can handle .jpg, .bmp as well as .gif image files and all that the user needs to do is to fix up couple of points to get the calibrated image. Even it facilitates provision for converting .gif and .bmp files into .jpg format as well.

With the help of this software the user can save the waypoints, route, tracks and it also offers support to National Map Grids. It comes in handy even for downloading calibrated images from the Internet saving them onto the PDA or any smartphone as well.

What’s more, it shows a globe icon within its toolbar; however it is independent of Google Earth or other similar software. On clicking on it, user avails connection to another website for downloading maps. This is a pretty decent application for everyone, which helps in easy navigation while on the move with the help of a smartphone or a PDA. Above all, it has a quick one-click operation as well.
